Bertha Glisson Herold 

Bertha Glisson Herold, 63, who retired as a bookkeeper for the Leon County School Board, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2005. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Walter Herold. The service will be at 10 a.m. EDT Friday at Northwoods Baptist Church, with burial at Oakland Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. EDT Thursday at Bevis Funeral Home in Tallahassee (850-385-2193). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lighthouse Children's Home, 7771 Mahan Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32309. A lifelong resident of Tallahassee, she was a Pink Lady and member of the auxiliary at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed doing ceramics and was a member of the Tallahassee Twirlers. She was a charter member of Northwoods Baptist Church, where she was an active member of the Willie Meggs Sunday School Class and volunteered in Vacation Bible School. Other survivors include a son, Trey Herold (and wife Laura) of Lexington, S.C.; a daughter, Renee Martinello (and husband Jim) of Tallahassee; four sisters, Emma Jean Johnson (and husband David) of St. Augustine and Betty Jo McConnell (and husband Rick), Eva Pearl Snider and Sara Cathryn Vanderslice (and husband John), all of Tallahassee; and six grandchildren, Kaleigh Martinello, Zachary Herold, Kendall Martinello, Cameron Martinello, Garett Herold and Gabriel Herold. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Thelma Glisson, and a brother, Ira Glisson Jr.
