Joseph Malcolm "Bo" Bevis, 76, of Stuart, Florida and formerly of Tallahassee, passed away August 11, 2017 in Stuart.

Bo was a native of Palmetto, Florida and a graduate of Leon High School. He was very active in community service with the Jaycee's, where he once was Jaycee of the Year, the Lions Club, as well as the Elk's. He held several positions with the Martin County school system maintenance department throughout his career. Two of his favorite passions were the Florida Gators and firefighting. Bo was an active volunteer and Chief for many years of the District 2 Fire Department, and was instrumental in the building of the department. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles William and Jo Helen Bevis; his brother Charles William Bevis, Jr.; and his sister Clara Louise "Sissie" Fulton.

Survivors include his children, Michael and Mary Jo Bevis, both of Stuart; his sister Charlene Bevis Reese of Tallahassee; and his brothers, Kenneth Burton "Bert" Bevis, also of Tallahassee and Lawrence Richard "Larry" Bevis of Tampa. ... more
